Mama Said Knock You Out

The night before last, the fifteen-year-old invited his best friend over to “hang out” and have dinner with the thirteen-year-old and me (Jim was at a work “function”).

I always enjoy when the two of them hang out. The two of them have known each other since 2nd grade. I love this kid: he’s a great guy and a great friend. (And very, very polite to me, which is nice.)

I made chocolate chip pancakes. (Don’t you love having Breakfast for Dinner? I do!)

Afterwards, the younger one and I went to the computer with his video camera, to finally transfer the Bar Mitzvah video so we can make DVDs. (I know, I know, I haven’t posted about the party yet. It’s coming…I have to scan a few photos first!)

The older boy and friend eventually made their way down to the basement, where we were.

My son said to me, “J says he always wanted an afro, so I’m going up to get the afro wig.”

You might be wondering why we have an afro wig. Nothing scandalous: Jim has worn it when dressed in ‘70s garb for a couple of Halloween parties.

Upon hearing that the afro wig would be worn, I was glad that I was going to get to see what they were doing.

They spent the next nearly 30 minutes goofing off and pretending to fight and knock each other out.

And taking pictures.

I wasn’t going to post any of them, truly I wasn’t.

But I couldn’t resist. Enjoy!
