Healthy Choice 100% Naturals Café Steamers: Feedback = More Options!

This is the second in a series of sponsored posts I’m writing for the folks at Healthy Choice.

A couple of weeks ago I told you about Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt. (Yum.)

Today I want to tell you about their 100% Naturals Café Steamers, which just hit stores in July. I was already a fan of the other Café Steamers varieties (I love the way you cook these things and THEN stir the meat and veggies into the sauce after everything is warm, so the stuff that is supposed to be crisp stays crisp and the pasta is al dente, not mushy from sitting in liquid!), so the new additions were exciting to me.

The 100% Naturals line came about as a result of customer feedback. Frankly, even though it’s impossible to please everybody it’s always nice to learn when a company is listening and making adjustments to make its fans happy. This line provides some nutritious vegetarian options with the great taste one would expect from Healthy Choice.

The varieties in the 100% Naturals line all have between 230 and 360 calories per meal, which is pretty excellent. Due to my high blood pressure I’m always looking at sodium content, and these all have between 490 and 600mg of sodium inside: not too bad for a complete meal that you don’t have to make from scratch. Being an empty nester nowadays, I can also appreciate these new options for when we don’t feel like cooking but don’t want, say, toast with a side of whatever leftovers we may have in the refrigerator.

There are five varieties in the 100% Naturals line. The one I’m most excited about is the Pumpkin Squash Ravioli (tender pumpkin-stuffed ravioli with crisp green beans, sweet butternut squash, and juicy Granny Smith apples, topped with a tasty butter-sage sauce) because right now it’s September (September rocks!) and thoughts are turning to Pumpkin-Everything and, well, this looks delicious, right? (It is.) (I mean, SO GOOD.)

The other four varieties are:

~ Portabella Marsala Pasta: Freshly made whole wheat pasta and rich crimini mushrooms, tossed with a savory Marsala wine sauce and topped with rich fontina cheese.

~ Tortellini Primavera Pasta: Four-cheese-stuffed tortellini featuring whole-grain pasta, julienne carrots, and red pepper strips and now includes more tortellini and sauce.

~ Asian Potstickers: Vegetarian dish served on a bed of rice and covered with a sweet Asian-style sauce. We’ve also added more potstickers and sauce, while making it less spicy, per fan feedback.

~ Portabella Spinach Parmesan: Freshly-made whole wheat pasta, and now featuring even more baby portabella mushrooms, red peppers, tomatoes and spinach.

You can find more information about Healthy Choice 100% Naturals Café Steamers on their website, and right now there is a coupon you can print for $1.00 off any two Café Steamers, so get on over there and grab your savings! Healthy Choice is also on Facebook, of course.

Now I’m hungry.
