Follow Santa’s Journey On Christmas Eve With OnStar

When I was visiting OnStar headquarters last month, the cutest factoid I heard was that OnStar tracks Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. (And I heard LOTS of cute factoids. Okay, lots of factoids: not necessarily cute ones. But this one is. For real.) I just received the details on this a couple of days ago and wanted to share it with you, so my Christmas-celebrating readers can do this. (This post is not sponsored: it’s just so CUTE I had to share!)

OnStar is, for the fifth year, teaming up with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Each year, NORAD conducts a special mission on December 24 – following Santa across the globe. Their goal is to ensure Santa experiences safe travels during his yuletide journey.

Using NORAD’s Official Santa Route information, OnStar will provide any active subscriber the opportunity to monitor Old St. Nick’s magical Christmas Eve trek from his or her vehicle with a simple press of the blue OnStar button.

On Christmas Eve, between the hours of 7:00 am EST and 5:00 am EST Christmas morning, anyone (in the U.S. and, for the first time, Mexico!) with an active OnStar subscription can press their blue OnStar button and request a “Santa Update.” The advisor will then provide Santa’s current location using Santa’s Official Route information provided by NORAD.

You don’t have to be an OnStar subscriber, incidentally. Individuals without an OnStar subscription can follow Santa by calling the NORAD Tracks Santa hotline – 877 HI-NORAD (877 446-6723) or visiting www.noradsanta.org.

Check out a couple of adorable calls from last year, and remember that Santa will only visit when the children are ASLEEP!
