Finally…Contest Results! Woo hoo!

I have finally, with the help of the younger boy, done the drawing for my big NYC Contest. As it turns out, we ended up having two honorable mention prizes, courtesy of the younger boy. Watch before reading on*!

Isn’t my son hilarious? He’s one of the funniest people I know and believe it or not, he did each of those videos in one take, totally off the cuff. I thought they turned out excellently. He just may have a future someday in pitching amazing products.

I want to thank each and every one of you for reading my blog and your high level of participation with this; I even made a little award for all of you! Grab it if you want to display it on your blog! Also, if you want to link it to the NYC tour, link it to the post right before this one (click here). Then your readers can go to NYC (and you can go back!) whenever they want to.

And for Weaselmomma? I have something special for you. Sure, you can take the award above as well, but you definitely win this “Bee in my Bonnet” award, for being the most annoying. I know, it’s a freakin’ ugly award. I spent about 51 cents of my time on it. (I won’t be insulted if you don’t post it; it’s mainly for laughs) Thanks for being so annoying. You’re funny, and I luv ya…even though I will kick your butt the next time we meet for lunch. Anyway, enjoy!

Thanks again for reading, everybody! More deliciousness is on the way Friday!

*Yeah, yeah, yeah. Weaselmomma had it coming. That was a total set up (she actually knew about it: dare I say it was her idea?).

LMAO!!! Your kid is all kinds of hilarious!!

Congrats winners…and Katie from Canada )hey, I know her!) Awesome 🙂

  • Michelle

Your son is HILARIOUS. I actually have to go back to watch the other two videos because I couldn’t stop laughing. His lack of enthusiasm over the prizes was … overwhelming at first. And referring to his notes? Too cute!

But those wallets? I’ve heard about that. I think we need a video demonstration!

But ohhh Weaselmomma. Are you SURE that wasn’t fixed? Are you certain? Maybe she’ll give me the penny though….

  • Michelle

Ok, so apparently I should have watched the second video before commenting.

Fine. Then I have my own comment. Just because you PAID $0.51 for the penny doesn’t mean that it’ WORTH $0.51. It’s only worth what someone will pay for it. Therefore, you can say it “cost” $0.51 but not that it’s worth $0.51.

    And I’m done now 🙂

  • The Microblogologist

Had I won I so would have given the penny to WeaselMomma, because you know she was only acting out because she wanted it so very very much! Too bad I didn’t get picked for a wallet, mine is falling apart and I can’t find one I like at walmart anymore (same with watches, what gives?!), they are all sissy wallets and not the kind I like (does he make trifold with room for all my cards and pictures of the adorable kids in my life? Yeah my wallet is mostly for transporting pics of the kiddies.) Hmmm, maybe I can get black duct tape and fix the one I have…

  • Sue

OK, that was hilarious, “older mom”! He definitely has NO problem in front of a camera! I love that he made duct tape wallets as runner up prizes!

Congrats to the all the winners!

WeaselMomma, maybe Melisa will find you something special at Blogher if you are a good girl. Maybe they will have Blogher pennies?

  • WeaselMomma

Younger Son is awesome! Well done. Excellent execution and funny to boot. I’m just glad to see he stood with me in solidarity of making fun of the prize package.

This was a bunch of fun! (the whole contest)

  • Katie

Hooray! Katie in Canada happens to LOOOOOVE pink and purple! 🙂

Thanks for making that, younger boy! I also happen to love duct tape wallets 🙂

  • Momo Fali

He’s great! Does he like younger women? I have a 10 year old daughter, you know? His face when he said, “Weaselmomma” was priceless!

LOVE that bee in the bonnet thing! I think Weaselmomma should change her blog name and we should all start calling her Bee.

Also…I’d like you to have a contest so I can win that margarita glass.

  • Brandy

Oh my gosh your son is SOOOOO funny! I just woke up and was drinking my coffee when I saw your email … I wondered what it was all about – then as soon as I got to your blog I knew .. I knew something was up! I am so excited! My daughter LOVES postcards – and we don’t really travel – so those are going to her for her collection!!

Thank you so much for this and I look forward to continuing to read your blog weekly if not daily!! Happy Thursday!!

  • NukeDad

I really wanted WeaselMomma to win the purple and pink wallet. Then you could have dis-assembled it and used the duct tape over her mouth so she wouldn’t dis your penny anymore!

  • i am the diva

    congrats to everyone!!
    I laughed, i cried… i didn’t win the tshirt

seriously, though, off the cuff – that kid is hilarious!!

“you might think this is an ordinary brown paper bag, and it is”

  • Lindz

I sincerely wish your son was in my class. What a trooper and very well spoken (which shouldn’t have been a shock.)

  • Melisa with one S

Huckdoll: Thanks! He’ll be happy to see that others think he’s funny. 🙂

Michelle: I actually spoke to him yesterday about doing a video demo on the wallets. You might remember that he made tons of them to sell for his Bar Mitzvah project…And regarding the penny’s worth? I stand corrected.

Microblogologist: I would definitely fix it with duct tape, which you know from the video that it’s the strongest thing ever, as long as you live on this earth.

Sue: Weaselmomma can get her own BlogHer penny! Seriously! (She’s going to be there, remember?)

Weaselmomma: Yep, he totally agreed with you, sort of. (I did tell him to camp it up a little bit…But he wouldn’t have offered the two “pitiful mom gifts” if he didn’t agree. 🙂

Katie in Canada: Yippee! Glad you like the colors! Use it in good health! (and don’t forget to send me your address!)

Momo: I’ll ask him about your daughter. He might be taken at the moment though, so I’m not sure. 🙂 I LOVE the idea of calling Weaselmomma “Bee”, and that particular margarita glass is mine, but I may be able to get my hands on another one for you. I might have a source. 🙂

    Brandy: Thanks for participating!

Nukedad: Your idea is evil, but it makes me smile from ear to ear.

    Diva: Thanks! 🙂

    Lindz: Thank you as well!

  • Isabella

YAAAAAY! I WIN I WIN I WIN! And something homemade too! I’m SOOOOO excited, you have no idea!
(though, judging by my comment so far…you probably do)ShankRabbit is in need of a new wallet (his silver duct tape one just gave out…no joke), so I’m sure he’ll love this new one. Many thanks to your son for crafting an honorable mention prize. 🙂

  • Melisa with one S

Isabella: Seriously? ShankRabbit carries a duct tape wallet? I guess when my kids imply they will also carry them into adulthood, they’re not kidding. 🙂 Glad that it’s going to come in handy! Don’t forget to e-mail me your address…

  • Dea

I still can’t get over how much he LOOKS like you!!! 😀 He’s so freaking awesome!!! YAY to the winners!!!

  • Melisa with one S

    Deanna: I know! Funny, huh?

“Anonymous”: Thanks for stopping in to check on what people were saying about your performance! xoxo Love, Mom

  • ShankRabbit

My DuctTape wallet just took a huge dook this past week. I’m going to swindle Isabella’s prize away from her.

    Your son rules!

  • Tom

What a talent! That kid’s going places, for sure. Hopefully he’ll write once in a while. Great contest and congrats to all the winners!

  • Anonymous

Okay, I am in the stupid coffee shop around the camera and the “band” just started playing, competing with the sound from your videos!! I’ll have to watch in the morning. But I did catch “I am the younger boy” and it made me laugh out loud!

What is a caper, exactly? I like them, but are they like a bean? some kind of bud to a flower picked prematurely? I thought you might know.

Crap this band sucks, I have to get the hell outta here.
xoxo and I’ll watch tomorrow from work
    WEATHER KIM

  • Michelle

Kim – Yes a caper is part of a flower picked prematurely. They’re the buds and I believe they are actually pickled?
