I’m Showing You What I Did So You Can Imagine What I’m Doing

It is early (5:30 a.m.) and I am already dressed in my black workout pants and black sponsor t-shirt: Midwest Mania begins today! The Mania is a fitness conference that is full of workshops and lectures for personal trainers, instructors (that’s me!), and others in the fitness industry. (For me, it’s nothing like BlogHer, because MY fun at Mania is actually going to the sessions. Wocka wocka wocka!)

Last year I worked the conference (it’s a cheaper way to get continuing ed credits I need for recertification), and at the staff party, I won the choice of either going for free this year (and not working) or working part time and bringing a friend to work with me. I chose the latter, because I had such a great time being a part of the staff, or “Maniacs”, that I didn’t want to just attend the conference without that experience. Also? Bringing a friend ROCKS!

Just like last year, I’ll try to tweet when possible. If you’re not already following me on Twitter, (huh??) I’m @melisalw. I can’t guarantee my tweets will be entertaining, but I’ll do my best!

If you weren’t a Suburban Scrawl reader yet last year (or you forgot), please read my Midwest Mania wrap-up, 2009. I think it’s quite funny if I do say so myself.

That’s it for now: I almost forgot: I need to go pack the Advil. We decided on the five or so workout sessions we’re taking today (Zumba, FTW!), and I might need it…
