Thank You. And You. And You.

I’ve been working on something exciting for the last four hours: the Acknowledgments section for my book. It has been difficult for me, not only because there are so many people to thank, and not only because there is no possible way I could list every single one of my friends, and not only because I hope there are no hurt feelings about that fact, and not only because my brain is a jumbled, thankful mess at the moment, but also just because I’m having a hard time editing myself.

I mean, I’m just not the type of person who can write, “To so-and-so: thanks for everything!” I have to expand on that.

You long-time readers know that I tend to be long-winded when it comes to certain topics. Expressing thanks in writing happens to be one of them. You people might as well settle in, and grab some snacks.

So I’ve written this HUGE Acknowledgments section that doesn’t even thank every single person in my life whom I’d love to thank, and I am freaking out a little bit (I’ve noticed that I nearly always need to be freaking out about something) because I think my publisher just might laugh at me when she sees how long it is.

Then again, it’s not the first time I’ve been laughed at. So never mind.

I think it’s time to back away from the computer for a little while, and drink some tea.

By the way, thanks for reading.

P.S. Don’t worry, every post from here on out will not be about my book. Yet.

No, thank you. I'm lovin' living vicariously through you. I can't wait to see your name at the bookstore. I will be grabbing random people, pointing to the cover, and saying 'I know her!'

Stupid phone ate the rest of my comment, it would hard to feel like I covered everyone and did it well withotu embarrassing myself

Getting a book published is a pretty big deal, I think you're entitled to write about it lots…and to thank whomever you want.

Dork. So long as you thank me, it's all gravy after that 😉

C'mon who really is going to be offended if they are accidentally left off? And yes… step away from the computer. Very far. And enjoy that tea!

Oh, really. No need to thank me! I know I'm responsible for your success. We don't have to tell everyone.

    Tutu!

Congratulations on your book! That's great news! I'll be sure to look for your name when the book hits the bookstores. It will be thrilling to see a familiar name on a book jacket.

I hope you enjoyed that cup of tea. You deserve it!

    You are welcome. Hahaha.

Step away from the computer and grab something a little stronger than tea!

I can see why that would be the hardest part! I'm sure you did a great job thanking everyone 🙂

In the scheme of things to freak out about, a too-long acknowledgment section, is probably one of the best things. Congrats!!!
