Breakfast On The Ledge! Yoga On The Ledge!

As most of you know, this summer I am a Skydeck Chicago Ambassador. It’s been really fun so far, being associated with the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, one of the great buildings of the world! Although I’m not being financially compensated for this program, one of my benefits was the opportunity to enjoy “Breakfast on The Ledge”, and I took advantage of it on Monday. My companion for breakfast? My older son, D.

Breakfast on The Ledge is a celebrity-style experience in which you eat a catered breakfast up on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower before Skydeck Chicago is open to the public.

We started getting excited when we received the catering menu: there are lots of choices for breakfast including eggs, French toast, crepes, fruit and yogurt, and more.

We arrived at the building for our 7:00 a.m. escort to Skydeck Chicago, and I have to say it was really eerie, being up on 103 without another soul there.

The presentation was lovely…

We had ninety minutes to enjoy breakfast and the view.

We asked our server if she ever sees celebrities up there for breakfast (because I figured that this was the perfect way for people who want to avoid the crowds to have the 103rd floor experience), and she said that most recently, Dennis Quaid and his family were up there. (For the record, she said he was super-nice.)

After we ate, it was time for D to get out on The Ledge for the first time, and for us to take some fun pictures (which were even better than normal, because we were the only ones there!).

I even took a short video of D running around, waving his arms above his head. We had to delete it, though: it was out of focus!

We had a great time, enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Speaking of once-in-a-lifetime experience, if you’re in the Chicago area and enjoy yoga, I’ve got one for YOU. Andrea Metcalf, health and fitness expert and host of NBC Nonstop’s new show (premiering this fall), “What’s On Chicago?”, will be giving a FREE yoga class up on the 103rd floor on Sunday, August 14 at 7:00 a.m. We only have twenty-five spaces and will be choosing attendees via random drawing from all who express interest on the event’s Facebook page (click here to go to it!), and good luck!

That sounds cool! I am thinking about maybe surprising my husband and taking him to that breakfast for his birthday. How much does it cost? Thanks!

Hi Trace! I was given the breakfast with my son as a part of the Ambassador program, but I am pretty sure that (because it’s an “exclusive” and private experience) it costs around $100-125 per person.
