Bump Club And Beyond, Live From The Microsoft Store In Oakbrook (Come And See Me!)

As both the mom of two older teenagers (16 and 19) AND someone who is extremely active online and savvy about social media, I often marvel at all of the resources younger moms have at their fingertips today (and I don’t even think they realize just how lucky they are!).

I mean, truly. Baby has a rash? Kid has separation anxiety? Not sure where to get those environmentally-friendly diapers the neighbor was talking about? Need a little bit of moral support or adult interaction? Moms nowadays can use the internet to search for answers to any question and get that needed interaction with just a couple of clicks. When my boys were babies, all I had available at my fingertips were books and the telephone. (I know, Stone Age, right??)

Lucky moms-to-be (and ladies who are already moms, too) have access to so many forums, groups, and resource-laden websites online that it would be impossible to list them all. I will tell you about one of them, though. Originally called Bump Club Chicago, Bump Club and Beyond is Chicago’s largest social event network for moms and moms-to-be. It’s only been around since April 2010 and has gone gangbusters in that short time, selling out more than 100 events. It was even selected by Chicago Magazine as the best “Mommy Hub” on the 2011 “Best of Chicago” list.

I will be participating in a Bump Club and Beyond event in a couple of weeks–their first suburban event!–and thought I’d tell you about it, so you, if you’re in the Chicago area, can consider coming AND telling your friends about it.

Time: 8:45 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (you can participate in some or all of the day!)
Place: The Microsoft Store at Oakbrook Center
Cost: FREE
Space: Limited: you must register to attend!

Here’s the schedule, in detail:

2:15-3 pm – Kids’ Concert with Mr. Singer and Kerri Appleberry!

Want to take a stab at which part of the event I’ll be involved with?

If you guessed the Kids’ Concert….yeah, you’re wrong.

I will actually be part of the “Moms Know Tech” panel, and I’m very excited to participate! I’ll be there to answer questions about online safety and social media, and to share some of my experiences. I hope you’ll come and say hello!

I have been told that the first 100 families to RSVP will go home with an incredible gift bag filled with goodies from Bump Club and Beyond partners plus a special gift from the Microsoft Store, so if you’re thinking about attending, don’t hesitate! Register for any or all of this FREE event by clicking here. Hope to see you there!

Disclosure: I am being compensated to appear on the “Moms Know Tech” panel, and though I was asked to consider posting about the event, it was not a requirement. Just thought you’d want to know.
