William And Kate Are Expecting And Obviously Don’t Want Me To Work Today.

I am at a point today where I have deadlines lit’rally (<---British accent) crashing around me. I have magazine articles due, some contractor work due, a freelance assignment due, some LTYM stuff I need to work on, and I am all in knots about it: I have been for days.

So it makes perfect sense that St. James Palace released this statement, TODAY OF ALL DAYS:

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”

It’s a test for me, I know. William and Kate are expecting a baby and I am expecting to implode from everything that is going on in my brain today. Might as well embrace this test and see if I can balance excitement over the Royal news with my obligations.

Wish me luck, I’m going to need it.

P.S. If you’re new here, you should know I have a *bit* of a fascination with the British Royals (Understatement of the year). I even live-blogged William and Kate’s wedding. It’s one of my most favorite posts ever, and you can read it here if you want to.
