I Have No Doubt That a Tiara Will Someday Adorn This Girl’s Head.

The 13-year-old went to a pool party on Saturday, and I wanted to share the spunky invite he received for this party, which came via U.S. Postal Service two weeks ago. The bright orange, number 10, Business-sized envelope was addressed with a thin purple marker and many stars, clouds, and curliques covered the empty spaces.

After he (remember, young teen BOY) opened the envelope, he unfolded the white copy paper the invite was printed on and read it silently before he tossed it onto the kitchen counter and said, “Hmm. Okay.”

I picked it up and was delighted at the wording; reminds me of…well, ME, at that age.

Okay, at this age too.

I dare you to read it and not want to ship her a tiara from Claire’s immediately:

Party Time!!!

Why: Don’t question why about a party, but if you must know, M.K. is turning Sweet 13! Yes, I know it’s Sweet 16, but who cares! 🙂

When: August 2, 2008: Yes, it is a Saturday
5:30 til 8:00 p.m. Drop off at B. Pool

RSVP: to M.K., or any one else who answers the phone, at 555-1212 by July 26

Gotta love a sassy teen girl who answers her own questions. That’s all I’m tryin’ to say.

Also, please tell me you didn’t try to ride your bike to work through the tornado warnings yesterday. I saw a movie once about a lady who rode through a tornado on her bike. She had a basket on the front for taking dogs to the pound. Someone dropped a house on her. She should have taken the train.

Nukedad: Was that lady from Kansas, by chance? And no, I didn’t ride my bike yesterday OR today (long story), but your concern for me honestly warms my heart. Now just don’t come back to read that statement and then leave a snarky comment, because you’ll ruin my Warm and Fuzzies.

Melissa: He had a great time! A few kids he hadn’t seen since June were there!
