There’s Nothing Like Your First.

Bittersweet times around here: D just sold his car. With him being away at school and not truly needing his own wheels, it was just sitting around, getting older. He had already rebuilt the entire engine and more recently, replaced the radiator. It didn’t make sense to keep it and risk having to do more maintenance on it with money that really needs to go towards college tuition right now.

The good news is, D sold the car to a friend who had been in his Cub Scout den, way back in the day. This young man has a true appreciation for cars–in fact, he is going to school to be an auto mechanic. When he came over to pick up the car he was very sensitive to the fact that D was, emotionally, not truly ready to give up the car (he has agonized over this decision for months) and he spent a few minutes telling D what a great job he did, maintaining it.

Watching that 1995 cherry red Eagle Talon drive away from our house for the last time, we both sighed heavily. He’ll get a fabulous new car someday, but this one will always hold a special place in his heart.

Awwwww, that picture shows so much emotion. Nice camera work.

I feel for him, from the bottom of my heart. I know how much he loved that car and how much work he put into it, both to purchase and maintain.

Awww! I know how he feels, my first car wasn't as fancy but when they took it away for donation it was so sad.

The picture is incredible! Nice shot!
