Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so, you are well aware that Season Three of “House of Cards” (A Netflix Original Series) has just become available for streaming. I can’t tell you how many of my friends made plans to cozy up this weekend and binge-watch the adventures of Frank and Claire Underwood, played to perfection by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, and in fact Jim and I won’t be far behind: we LOVE this series.
That said, there’s something else I’m super excited about that’s coming up next week, and it’s brought to us by the hilarious and smart Tina Fey.
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, a new Netflix Original Series, stars Ellie Kemper (you’ll recognize her from “The Office”) and Jane Krakowski (Tina Fey’s co-star in “30 Rock” and, FUN FACT: Cousin Vicki from the original “National Lampoon’s Vacation”). Kemper plays a woman who is rescued from a Doomsday cult and starts life over again in Manhattan as Krakowski’s nanny.
I’ve already put this sitcom in my Netflix list and plan to begin watching on March 6, when Netflix says, “GO!” I am looking forward to it not only because it looks hysterical, but with Tina Fey behind it (as creator, executive producer, and writer), how can I go wrong?
While I wait, I’m getting my Tina Fey fix on Netflix streaming with the 2004 movie “Mean Girls” and my very favorite episodes of “30 Rock” (sooo many!). If you’ve got Netflix streaming AND the DVD plan, you can get even more Tina with “Baby Mama”, “Date Night”, “The Invention of Lying”, and “Admission”.
So let’s go, everyone! Let’s go FULL TINA! Who’s with me?
