I love my readers: you are all extremely creative! I had a great laugh at your guesses about what I have on my head in this post, but nobody got it except for my girl Danny, who takes my Wednesday spin class and answered on my Facebook page. I have to admit, I was hoping that somebody around my age (A girl. Don’t worry Nukedad, you didn’t disappoint me. 🙂 ) would totally leave a comment like, “Oh yeah! I had one of those hair dryers when I was little!” Didn’t happen. Just call me Grandma. Although what I have on my head in the photo is not a tiara,…

Take Me To Your Leader!
I was going through photos this evening (that’s right: I made a little bit of time to do something I didn’t HAVE to do!!!) to find something for an upcoming post, and found this gem. I’m desperately hoping figuring that someone will get the answer to this question right away…tell me, what is the reason I am wearing this so-not-a-tiara kind of headpiece? I Was Surprised To Be Surprised
Thank God I actually journalled in the scrapbook I made to commemorate my 30th birthday, almost–choke–ten long years ago. I have not yet finished the journalling in my kids’ scrapbooks (the ones I’ve started anyway, through toddlerhood…I’ll NEVER catch up until I’m too old to remember absolutely none of the details), but I can tell you everything about my 30th birthday party! Go Shawty, It’s Your Birthday…
Today is a real milestone kind of day. Thirty-five years ago on this very day, a person was born. This person was not just *any* average kind of person: she is really something special. I was going to say that on this day, I feel really old. But I won’t say that first because that makes it more about me. Then again, she’s used to that. So I will say it. I feel really old. My “kid” sister is celebrating 35 years today! How the hell did that happen, and where did the time go? If you know me at all, you know that I love lists. I’m gonna give…

Polish Like It’s 1999
I am a creature of habit. I like routine. I am comforted by “The Same” of it all. Shakeups and unpredictability are fun for me now and then (alright, depending on what it is); I can rise to the occasion and have fun with something different, but in general terms and daily details I am all cozy with what I’m used to. Which is why, when my friend/co-worker said to me “We’re not painting your nails a boring color this time, are we?” I trembled a little bit. Yeah, it’s just nails*. No, I’m not a shallow person. There are bigger decisions to be made and the matter of nail…
