• My Sister Has Mad Skillz,  Proud Moments,  Shameless Promotion

    Just a Reminder…

It’s been a while since I have done a shameless self promotion post on this, so I guess today is as good a day as any to use this space for just that reason. Some of you newer readers may have absolutely no idea that I actually have a book out there. It’s called Remembering Ruby: For Families Living Beyond the Loss of a Pet. Although the target age range is 4-9 (ish), it’s really a book meant for families to share together. I can also say that many adults have told me that they read it and found the story to be very helpful. The book has two parts.…

My Date With Drew (and Miss Pettigrew, and Miss Congeniality, and Jamal Malik, and Kristin Chenoweth, and Bridget Jones, and Kenny Shopsin)

One of the many really fantastic things about my sister is her ability to enjoy a vast amount of different genres when it comes to music, as well as movies. But I’m in a good groove,…

Clean AND Ancient. Big AND Rich. Mortified AND Humiliated.

My sister Julesie is a first-class photographer. Though her ability shines through with any format and any subject, my favorite pictures are the ones she’s taken of children (and not just mine!). I think it’s safe to say that my kids and the kids of her friends (to whom she is an honorary aunt!) are some of her favorite subjects. Years ago, there was a period during which she did children’s portraits as an actual business. One day, she had to drop off some proofs at the home of someone I knew through the health club (I worked in the nursery at the time), and the boys (who were about…
