I finally did it. I did what I have been “threatening” to do for weeks now. I wore my tiara while I was teaching my spin class last night. (Go Wednesday!) I had been telling the class about how I am a tiara-wearing girl, and that I think it’s important to be a Princess now and then, and suddenly two weeks ago, Linda (or “Wednesday”, as I call her–click “Go Wednesday” above to read about it) brought me the most adorable pair of tiara spin socks: I subbed two classes yesterday morning for my friend Diane and although I always look forward to Wednesday night because it’s my favorite class,…

Vielen Dank, Kat! Die Geschenke Sind Prima!
Oh Happy Day! Last week I received a package from my favorite German Evil Twin, Kat! (I love surprise packages, don’t you?) Further confirmation that we are indeed long-lost evil twins came as I opened up all of the goodies that filled the box: all perfectly chosen. She sent me (okay, US…I shared with the family) some German chocolates from the area in Eastern Germany where she was born and raised (can I just say “YUM!”?). My favorite was the chocolate with Hazelnuts in it, which is a pretty common find in German chocolate: FOR A REASON. It’s delicious! Lucky for me, my family liked the other two candy varieties…

I Just Moved Your Cheese.
I switched my profile picture, so don’t be alarmed when you see comments from me on your blogs that are accompanied by this sassy photo instead of the other one of me and my late Angel doggie Bijoux. Just wanted to keep you all in the loop! LOL More changes to come in the next couple of days: I’m putting Blogher up, so I’m switching to a 3-column template. Now you have all the latest news from this house.

Royalty Is a State of Mind…And I Really, Really Enjoy Visiting That State.
There have been many chuckles (and even guffaws) over my tiara-talk over the past couple of months, and I thought it’d be fun to give a little background on my sparkly-headpiece “her-story”. I am not a poser, you see. My wearing a tiara now and then isn’t a brand-new thing. Just like–for example–Tiger Woods, who picked up his first golf club before he ever started school, or even Debbie Gibson–who was composing songs at a very early age (Did I really just make a Debbie Gibson reference? Bear with me…I’m on a roll!*), I was born to wear the tiara. Your honor, here is the evidence: One of my first…

It’s Gotta Be The Tiara.
I just finished watching one of my favorite shows, “Bridezillas” on the WE network. I have watched wedding-style reality shows for several years, all the while wondering what, exactly, my fascination is with them. My own wedding was nothing like what you would see on tv: we got married at a courthouse all by ourselves. You would think that I like wedding shows because deep down I feel as if I missed out on something. Nope, I don’t think so. I don’t recall, as a little girl, having grandiose dreams of a big princess wedding. Although we got married young and have some regrets about not having our families there,…
