Big Mother Is Watching

Generally, I don’t worry about my blog stats as much as I used to. I figure, as long as I’m writing what *I* want, the way *I* want to, I am happy. I appreciate my readers, every single one, no matter how many show up each day.

The last couple of days, however, I have been paying closer attention to my stats because I was getting a bump in traffic due to my post about the Ben Gay and Bedazzler conversation I had with Momo and yesterday’s post about the Mercedes Benz Tweet Race.

When I looked at my stats yesterday afternoon, the town in which D attends college popped up. “That’s weird,” I thought.

Not that D is the only person who lives in that town, obviously: 100,000 people live there, plus the 2400 students at the college. It’s just that I’ve never seen that city make an appearance. At first I thought, “Nah, it can’t be him.” D doesn’t ever read my blog. I mean, he has read it before, but I could probably count his blog visits on my fingers.

And then I noticed that the page being read by this mysterious person from the college town was a post about the day that Jim and D brought his car back to life. A couple of minutes later, it was a post about D’s blue room.

I logged onto Facebook, giggling, to see if he was on, and indeed he was. I started up a chat window with “ARE YOU READING MY BLOG? :)”

He replied, “HOW’D YOU KNOW??”

I explained blog stats to him, and we had a good laugh.

And that, my friends, was a great teachable moment about how his mother is always keeping an eye on what he’s doing.

Too funny. All 3 of my college children (yes, I said 3!) read my blog. The boys don't mention it and I think they actually assume I don't know one way or the other. Silly boys.
My daughter however will call to talk about the day's post. 🙂
Then yesterday, Son #1 actually posted a link to my blog on FB to his sister. Too funny.
I thnk deep down they assume I know because I've always told them I know everyting.
They might be silly but they're not dumb. Ha

OMG! Is that called reverse stalking. I never noticed those eyes in the back of your head while we were eating…do you hide them under your hair.

    Long time no see…:)

Funny! That'll show him to keep behaving! 😉 Now, I've got to go find out what this Ben Gay conversation was all about…I'm sure it was hilarious!

That would have blown my mind and made me very paranoid. In fact it is making me paranoid right now. This internet is too powerful.

You shouldn't have admitted to him how you knew. That could have been great fun for you with him thinking you know everything – once again 😉
