“Wordless” is difficult for me. I like to write and I like to talk. I do, however, have the ability to keep it short. Sort of.

I’ve been wanting to post this picture for several months now. I snapped it on the north side of the Chicago River near Michigan Avenue, in the shadow of both the Trump International Hotel & Tower and the Wrigley Building.
Those lily pads were peacefully floating around–not in the river, of course–in a little pond structure just steps away from Michigan and Wacker, one of the most bustling intersections in the city. I was amazed at the juxtaposition.
Sadly, the picture doesn’t really go with anything I’ve been writing about as of late, and so it’s been sitting on the desktop of my Macbook Pro, glaring at me, daring me to actually use it somehow.
And so I did, in this Not-Really-Wordless Wednesday post. Enjoy!

What a nicely worded Wordless Wednesday post! Pretty lily pads. Weird place to find them.

haha, thanks! And yes, it WAS very weird. They seemed so out of place but I really felt like I found a hidden secret or something.

It’s a lovely water lily shot. You’ll be grateful for the pretty green when Chicago is ankle deep in snow.

THAT’S for sure. And maybe knee-deep. They say it’s gonna be a rough winter this year!

I do love that picture! It’s gorgeous. And you are right, a very interesting juxtaposition (which btw juxtaposition is my word of the week. I’ve said/typed it more in the last week than I think in my entire life previously! LOL!)

Thanks! (and I love that word! I use it as often as possible! haha)
