I have attended the BlogHer conference four times now: Chicago ’09, New York ’10, San Diego ’11, and, just this past weekend, New York ’12. When I tell non-blogging friends about these weekends away, I get a goofy grin on my face and say things like, “These have been some of the best weekends of my adult life.” It’s totally true. Say what you want about any online presence you might have; it’s when you connect IN PERSON with friends–old and new–that really solidifies relationships. Sue from As Cape Cod Turns was my roommate for the first three years, and was unable to make it to New York this year…

Wrecked.
As I am typing this post out—pecking one letter at a time because I’m using my iPad—I’m some 30,000 feet in the air (give or take), on my way home from the BlogHer conference in New York City. I have so many stories to share with you and will do so over the next few days as I regain my bearings (and, let’s be honest, detox), but since it’s been six days since my last post I wanted to use some of my flight time to check in and say hello. It was a very emotional weekend for me. I was with some of my very best friends, which is…

A Post-Conference Conversation
The #BBSummit12 conference is over and short of some WiFi problems on the hotel’s end, I think it went really well. I will probably do some sort of mini-recap of my favorite moments at the conference, but for now here is a recap of what happened when I went upstairs to the hotel room I was sharing with Liz in between #BBSummit12 and the after party*. *I let myself into the room. Liz has already freshened up.* Liz: “Hi! You’re done! Yay!” *hugs me* Me: “I know! Yay!” Liz: “it went well!” Me: “You think?” Liz: “Yes! Of course!” *I start to get teary-eyed* Me: “I’m very emotional right now!”…

Join The Club!
Life has been tough lately for two of my very best friends in the world, Liz and Momo. Both of them have been unfortunate recipients of terrible house-related luck and it just keeps piling on. Exhibit A–Liz Home: New Jersey Go-to Motto: “You can’t make this stuff up!” (also, the generally heavy use of the acronym “FUBAR“) On the weekend, she posted this on her Facebook page: Scorecard: 6/26: washer & dishwasher busted. 6/28: Water main breaks, no water. 6/29 Bridge collapse, damages county water supply pipes, water contaminated. 6/30: Rec’v word cannot repair dishwasher/washer until 7/2. 7/1: Road erupts, sink hole in front of house, no water. 7/2: See…

That’s What Friends Are For
I guest-posted for my buddy Momo last night, on account of her entire neighborhood (city? I don’t know. Huge area) being out of power for the weekend with NO ELECTRICITY IN SIGHT for another week. Seriously. The post is pretty funny if I do say so myself. Figures I’d be “on fire” on someone else’s blog. I work really well under pressure. If you don’t already read Momo’s blog, WHY??? I mean, check it out here.
