Next, Maybe A Voice-over Role In the Next Pixar Feature?

So I went ahead and listed my lovely (if I do say so myself) phone voice in my birthday post (#34), and fame came a’callin. Alright, fame’s name is actually Kim Martucci, otherwise known as “Weather Kim”, otherwise known as the meteorologist for WUSA-9 in Washington DC, otherwise known as a frequent Suburban Scrawl visitor. By the way, don’t confuse Kim with Angie Goff, Traffic Anchor for the same morning news on the same station, you know, the one who put her hand on Julesie‘s cheek in my crazy Gwen Stefani dream and got super close to the other cheeks of Richard Simmons in her broadcast studio: Kim needed somebody…

    Happy Birthday, Dawndi!

Today marks the birthday of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Dawn. You know her as “Anonymous.” (Helleeew? I may get her a Blogger account for her b-day!) I became acquainted with Dawn way back in the olden days when I was in high school. We were pen pals for more than a year before we ever met in person. Her boyfriend Scott was going through Navy Boot Camp with Jim, and the two guys thought it’d be nice for us to connect. (Great idea!) Dawn and I were able to bond over being the girlfriends of Navy guys. When I was a Senior in high school, she was…

I Was Surprised To Be Surprised

Thank God I actually journalled in the scrapbook I made to commemorate my 30th birthday, almost–choke–ten long years ago. I have not yet finished the journalling in my kids’ scrapbooks (the ones I’ve started anyway, through toddlerhood…I’ll NEVER catch up until I’m too old to remember absolutely none of the details), but I can tell you everything about my 30th birthday party! Here we go… The Conspirators: Kate, Jim, JulesieThe Plan: Jim and Julesie had an idea: “Let’s throw a surprise party!” They started making plans around Labor Day, and brought Kate into the mix. Kate became the decoy: she called me on the morning of November 6 (my actual…

She Nailed It Right On the Head (Narrowly Missing My Tiara)

I got the most adorable card yesterday from my girl Sue, from As Cape Cod Turns. Check it out! She said that she found it and thought of me. Now THAT really warmed my heart. I think about my blogging friends all the time, during all kinds of different circumstances. What about you? Do you do that, too? Naturally when any German reference shows up in front of me, I’m thinking of my evil twin, Kat. The same goes for Australia and my much, much younger bloggy sister, Katie. I think of Melissa whenever I pass a Chili’s, because we will be meeting there in the near future. I think…
