It just hit me on Tuesday evening, right after I dropped Liz and her middle daughter off at the airport (how much I hate goodbyes could be a whole other post, ugh), how much I had done/accomplished/enjoyed in two weeks. It made me dizzy, and perhaps piled on more exhaustion, on top of my exhaustion. It also made me smile. The last two weeks of July just might have been the busiest two weeks of my entire life, but I’m not complaining. It was a blast. First there was the BlogHer conference in NYC. I went into it exhausted; the weeks leading up to conference weekend are crazed for our…

Yoga On (Okay, NEAR) The Ledge!
One of the privileges of being a Skydeck Chicago Ambassador this summer was the ability to come up with a one-of-a-kind event to put on in the space on the 103rd floor of Willis (formerly Sears) Tower. We ambassadors started with clean slates, and could basically present any idea we wanted to the PR team and management of Skydeck Chicago for approval. For me, incorporating a workout was a no-brainer, because I love fitness and especially because Skydeck Chicago has nothing to do with fitness. I thought that mixing up the two worlds would be interesting and fun. Of course, I couldn’t exactly arrange to teach a cycling class up…

Chicagonista Live At 103!
Yesterday I spent some time with the girls of Chicagonista Live (minus Nancy Loo, who had to anchor the noon news, and plus Barbara Rozgonyi!), because they broadcasted from Skydeck Chicago and had asked me to be a guest on the show, to promote my book. I had a great time with MJ, Beth, Duong, and Barbara, and being able to stand on the sidelines and watch their production up close and personal was pretty cool, too. Randy Stancik, the General Manager of Skydeck Chicago, was a guest too. If you’d like to watch the recording, click here! After the show, we wanted to get some pictures on The Ledge,…

Breakfast On The Ledge! Yoga On The Ledge!
As most of you know, this summer I am a Skydeck Chicago Ambassador. It’s been really fun so far, being associated with the Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, one of the great buildings of the world! Although I’m not being financially compensated for this program, one of my benefits was the opportunity to enjoy “Breakfast on The Ledge”, and I took advantage of it on Monday. My companion for breakfast? My older son, D. Breakfast on The Ledge is a celebrity-style experience in which you eat a catered breakfast up on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower before Skydeck Chicago is open to the public. We started getting excited when…

@SkydeckChicago Fast Pass Giveaway #1: Winner!
I just picked (via random drawing) the winner of my first Fast Pass giveaway. She isn’t one of my blog readers so I won’t post her name here, but you can look at the event page to see it. For everyone else, no worries: I’ve got three more giveaways over the next few weeks and the prize pack might increase in size, so stay tuned!

Hello there! It’s me, Skydeck Chicago Ambassador Melisa, with my first giveaway! I have a pair of Skydeck Chicago Fast Passes (value=$35 each) up for grabs. The Weekend We Smashed My Old Record To Bits
As you no doubt recall from the last two posts, my endless tweeting, and possibly my Facebook statuses, Momofali and her lovely, funny, and super-cute daughter visited me this weekend. I issued a challenge to you, to take a stab at guessing how many attractions I could show the two of them in the course of 2 1/2 days. I even made a little contest out of it, and decided to do a random drawing from all of the comments for a mini Chicago souvenir prize pack. But more about that at the end of this post. (See how I did that? Now you have to look at my vacation…

The Welcome Wall: A @SkydeckChicago Tip From #MelisaSkydeck
As I’m in the middle of a fabulous (and busy!) weekend with Momofali, who is visiting from Ohio with her awesome daughter (did you put in your guess on my last post, so you can be eligible for my random drawing? And by the way, if you did guess already, it was probably too low), I just wanted to check in and give you a great “looks like it’s behind-the-scenes but it’s really not” tip about Skydeck Chicago, which was number one on our very busy agenda yesterday. With a little bit of advance planning–two days or more, to be exact–you can impress your friends and make them feel all…

My Official Title Is Skydeck Chicago Ambassador, But You Can Call Me #MelisaSkydeck
Aaaaand we’re off! Today is the official beginning of the Skydeck Chicago Ambassador program. For the next two months, I will be serving, along with three other great ladies (Lisa, Christy, and Jen) as your source for information about all of the fun that can be had, 1353 feet high in the air above the great city of Chicago, at the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower). First of all, if you’re just joining me, welcome! (In fact, even if you’re NOT just joining me, welcome!) You can read about my private, “behind-the-scenes” tour of Skydeck Chicago with General Manager Randy Stancik, along with how I finally conquered my fear…
