We just got back from vacation on Sunday! Well, it was technically a working vacation for me, but the best kind: I was invited to bring my family to the Sandusky, Ohio area to enjoy a whole bunch of stuff that Lake Erie Shores and Islands has to offer, for the explicit purpose of sharing it with you. (Yes, YOU.) Before I get started, let me summarize in case you’re the type that likes to read the last chapter of a mystery novel first so you can see whodunnit: WE LOVED IT. ALL OF IT. That said, I encourage you to read more. (And MORE: this is post number one…

Top Five: The Chevy Tahoe Edition
My family returned Sunday night from a great weekend in the Sandusky, Ohio area on Lake Erie. I’ll be writing about that over the next couple of days but one thing I totally have my thoughts together on NOW is our sweet ride. The lovely folks at Chevrolet were kind enough to loan us a 2012 Tahoe Hybrid so that our trip would be more comfortable, and boy was it! I reviewed the 2011 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid last May when we drove one down south to pick up books from my publisher and you can read that post by clicking here. As I recall, there were no major changes to…

Flat Sue Goes To #BlogHer12!
I have attended the BlogHer conference four times now: Chicago ’09, New York ’10, San Diego ’11, and, just this past weekend, New York ’12. When I tell non-blogging friends about these weekends away, I get a goofy grin on my face and say things like, “These have been some of the best weekends of my adult life.” It’s totally true. Say what you want about any online presence you might have; it’s when you connect IN PERSON with friends–old and new–that really solidifies relationships. Sue from As Cape Cod Turns was my roommate for the first three years, and was unable to make it to New York this year…

Wrecked.
As I am typing this post out—pecking one letter at a time because I’m using my iPad—I’m some 30,000 feet in the air (give or take), on my way home from the BlogHer conference in New York City. I have so many stories to share with you and will do so over the next few days as I regain my bearings (and, let’s be honest, detox), but since it’s been six days since my last post I wanted to use some of my flight time to check in and say hello. It was a very emotional weekend for me. I was with some of my very best friends, which is…

Vacation, Revisited.
It “only” took three months, but I finally developed the waterproof cameras we brought on our cruise in January. As is typical, the quality of the pictures isn’t all that fabulous, but the quality of the memories is beyond excellent. These are the best pictures from the bunch: they were taken on the day we left the cruise ship in favor of a smaller boat, to sail to a “snorkeling and beach party”. I pumped up the color in the picture of the fish: the snorkeling wasn’t as pretty (okay, or as dangerous!!) in Cozumel as it was on my trip to the Bahamas in 2006 so I gave it…
