I Can’t Drive 55

Just when I think the pace of my life cannot move any quicker, somehow it gets kicked up another notch. The last two weeks have been a blur. We have not been able to keep up with anything in the house due to outside obligations, and my personal projects? Forget it. I have an article due next week, blog posts to catch up on, reviews to write, lacrosse club forms to create…the list goes on.

And today I find myself writing this post on my phone, in the passenger seat of my car while the 17 year old drives the two of us to visit a college in Dubuque, Iowa. As we speed by the browning cornfields, I wonder how simplified my life would be if I lived out here. I imagine a much slower pace, a more relaxed me.

Then, as my son turns up Sammy Hagar, I realize I would not have it any other way.

Corn and flat land are very boring. Now what about our mountains that would not be boring.
I guess he has not looked at a college in this area.
Today the sky is crying, very wet here but fall colors are starting just a little.
Good luck with looking, how many more do you have to go?
    Love

P.S. Where is your new laptop?

My life has been too hectic for about 3 months now. At least you are keeping up the blogging. I wish I were as dedicated. Don't follow Sammy too far. You know that can lead to Mas Tequila.

Hee hee — that was my exact thought as I drove home from STL on Monday. Ahhh for the simplicity. AHHH for the simplicity 😉 And you need to share the details on the visit you know….
