    My Dream Vacation

…would be one in which I (and Jim and the boys, too) stay with a good friend and do lots of sightseeing, in places like this… and this… and I’d be walking on these… and I’d eat stuff like this… …and of course my pictures would be taken with the PEN E-PL1 which Olympus has loaned me (though in a dream vacation the camera would belong to me)! BlogHer Recap 2: Make New Friends But Keep The Old…One Is Silver and The Other Gold

The great thing about BlogHer is that not only do I get to hang out with many of my favorite people in the world who I’ve already had the pleasure of knowing for a long time, but I also get to meet many, many new friends. Here are only a few pictures of who I spent some time with in NYC, naturally taken with the PEN E-PL1 which Olympus has loaned me! With Carol, NYCity Mama With Cat, my favorite Clever Girl With Momo from Momo Fali’s and Colleen from Mommy Always Wins With Pauline OHMommy) from Classy Chaos With Patty from NYC Girl at Heart, Lynn from Walking With…

BlogHer Recap 1: What I Learned

I’ve decided to split my BlogHer recap into a couple of parts because it was such a huge experience. This was my second year attending BlogHer, and it was spectacular. I had great fun that I will remember forever with friends both old and new, and I loved experiencing some of the excitement Manhattan had to offer outside of the hotel. I only attended two sessions (oops) but have no regrets about that whatsoever. I achieved my goal of connecting with some great brands that I really believe in. I interviewed Courtney Hansen, the spokesperson for AutoTrader.com, and I also spoke with Dr. Stuart Seale, author of The Full Plate…

New Here? Get To Know Me!

BlogHer recap? Sure, sure. I’ll get to it. Hopefully tomorrow. In the meantime, I have a feeling I might be entertaining a few new visitors here at the Scrawl over the next couple of days, because I handed out a bunch of business cards at the conference–AT LEAST 15 of them (*insert rimshot here*)–and if you folks are anything like me, you are checking out new blogs written by new conference friends as you slowly come out of your weekend stupor. Or something like that. So I thought I’d toss out a big “I MISSED YOU!” to all of my readers who couldn’t get to NYC for various reasons, and…

Thankfully, Pictures Are Worth Lots of Words

I am still at Blogher in New York City, of course, but I wanted to put up another post with some of my favorite pictures on the trip so far. They were, of course, taken with the PEN E-PL1 camera that Olympus was kind enough to loan me! By the way, if you haven’t checked out my Posterous blog (where I posted these originally), please do. Click on the picture of my dog, Roxie, in the left margin to see all of my Posterous photos (so far)! ©2010 Suburban Scrawl

    We Did It!

This picture was taken by Secret Agent Mama with the PEN E-PL1 camera that Olympus was kind enough to loan me! Yay us! Michelle and I completed the Blogher 5K this morning! Michelle ran just about all of it; she had to stop at certain intersections to figure out which way to go! I ran more than half of it before I alternated running and walking. I have a blister the size of a quarter on the bottom of my foot that I got over the last two nights while hoofing it all over Manhattan in non-sensible shoes (THANKS, annoying sandals…NOT!), and that bothered me a bit. Plus? It was…

    Goal #1: ATTAINED!

Gah! I was really, really hoping to do one last vlog, especially today WHEN I COMPLETED MY FIRST GOAL (woot!), but I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, getting ready to fly out to New York at o’dark thirty tomorrow, and the thought of waiting for the vlog to upload and process and…well, you get the idea. Quick summary: I got very little sleep last night (what else is new?), mostly due to my ongoing mental insanity about what I still needed to do around here before leaving town for five days, but also because there were really bad storms starting around 3:30 a.m., which…

Couch to 5K Mini Update: The Penultimate Workout

I just returned home from my Week 9, Day 2 run and wanted to tell you about it, but first I wanted to say thank you so much to all of you who piped up with advice and encouragement when I hit the wall on Friday; you all really came through for me. As you know, I’m swamped, but I wanted to respond to comments and I can save myself a few minutes by responding here, quickly. Sarahndipitea: I did not even know that there was special Couch to 5K music out there! I checked it out after you left your comment and was amazed. I didn’t download any yet,…
