You’re going to be seeing a lot about Go Red For Women this month. Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s campaign to bring attention to heart disease in women. (Tomorrow, February 3, is “National Wear Red Day”!)
I have been asked to share information with you (in exchange for a complimentary ticket) about the Go Red For Women Girls’ Night Out in Chicago on Wednesday, February 29. It will be a night of shopping, fashion, food, and mini spa treatments (not to mention cocktails by Spicebox Whiskey and Lulu B) at the Alhambra Palace restaurant from 7-10 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a gently used purse or professional shoes for Dress For Success, and everybody will go home with a swag bag worth more than $200. (!!!) The event is sponsored by WBBM Newsradio, K-HITS, B96, and Sassy Moms in the City. (Radio personalities Nikki, Showbiz Shelly–love her!–Rebecca Ortiz, and Eddie & Jobo are scheduled to appear.) Ticket proceeds benefit the American Heart Association Go Red For Women initiatives.
Does the event sound familiar to you? If you’ve been reading my blog for more than a year, it should. This is the very event for which, last year (the first annual), I completely lost my mind (oh, yes I did) in my obsessive search for a red dress (which, by the way, wasn’t even mandatory) and, when I exhausted all dress possibilities, red shoes. As you might recall, those red shoes arrived right before I left the house for the event, and I didn’t want to wear them for an entire evening without breaking them in.
This year, I’m totally zen about the whole thing. (No, really.)
I have the shoes (which still need breaking in but I’ve got a month!) and plan to wear my LBD. That’s it; done. I’m looking forward to the event, and would love to see YOU there.
You can purchase a ticket by clicking here.
Oh, and do you want to read all about last year’s crazy?
The dress obsession post is HERE.
The follow-up post with the shoes is HERE.
You’re welcome.

I’ll be there! I already own a red dress because I LOVE red. Also, because then Patrick can sing “Lady in Red” to me while we dance. Seriously. That’s one of the reasons I bought it. When I met him, he was a singer in a band… Ahhhh…. memories.

I won’t be there unless they want to fly me out because I am a VIB (Very Important Blogger) at least in my own mind. I’ll look for some red accessories to send your way to match with the shoes. Glad that your outfit is already picked out! Phew!

Hope you have a great turn out and a wonderful event.
I’m glad you’ve taken a more zen approach to your attire this year.

I have a red dress, it doesn’t fit. I have a red sweater. My black pants don’t fit. My butt has taken on a area code of it’s own. I’ll be there, in my jammies if I have to, because they still fit.
