I have always struggled with quieting my mind. I was born that way, but my tendency to have multiple projects going on at any given time (along with my worry about every detail that exists) doesn’t make my life easier.
Many of my friends have suggested meditation, but I’ve never actually tried it.
A couple of years ago a friend suggested the website “Do Nothing For 2 Minutes” and I thought that was pretty amazing but I always forgot about it. Also, I have to be on my computer to use it. (Click it; it’s pretty cool!)
My new watch has a “Breathe” function on it, and I’ve had lots of success with it. I get periodic reminders during the day just to take a minute and breathe, and I can be anywhere, doing pretty much anything, when I do it. Often I’ll just breathe for a minute right after my alarm goes off, before I even get out of bed in the morning. It seems incredible that taking a minute to just breathe can have that much of a calming effect on my day, but it really does.
When was the last time you took a minute?

Deep breathing is the best skill. I showed my husband how to do it recently–I forget that people don’t always know how to consciously breathe from their diaphragm!!

I’m not good at meditating or deep breathing. I’ve tried but…nope.
