We invited Julesie over today for a late birthday celebration, which meant one thing: Rainbow Cake! I make rainbow cake for all of our special family occasions; it’s a family tradition that our mom started when we were little ones. One of the most memorable cakes our mom ever made was for Julesie’s third (we think) birthday: it was Cookie Monster. The reason we (and some of our relatives) still talk about that cake today is because all of that dark blue icing made the entire insides of our mouths, our tongues, and our lips blue for the rest of the day. My first real job outside of babysitting was working for McDonald’s. I adored that job. On Friday, I did myself proud. As many of you know, I write feature articles for a nail salon industry magazine. Every July, my fabulous editor asks her writers to propose ideas for the following year. When NYC = New York Candy
I made it quite clear in a post I wrote before I left town that a candy pilgrimage was in order for this trip to NYC, but I had no idea what a huge part candy would actually play over the three and a half days. (There are worse things!) We spent lots of time getting up close and personal to candy in NYC. Times Square is home to the Hershey Store and M&M World. See?
